FCB Nyasa Bullets will be hoping to finish the TNM Super League first-round on a high as they play away to Mighty Wakawaka Tigers at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre.

The defending champions are coming from a 2-0 victory over Karonga United which helped them move top of the table with 29 points from 14 games.

A win in this afternoon’s fixture will see the People’s Team finishing the first round with unassailable 32 points since second-placed Chitipa United wrapped up the first round with 29 points.

Third-placed silver Strikers can only finish on 31 points if they win against Moyale Barracks this afternoon at Mzuzu Stadium.

Tigers are stuck in relegation zone with 13 points from 14 games, but technical director Robin Alufandika said they are ready to cause an upset.

Pasuwa: It will be a tough game

He said: “Believe me we will shock them. Forget about what we have been going through. We will finish with a victory.”

Bullets coach Kalisto Pasuwa said it will be a tough match that they need to control of the game if they are to collect maximum points.

Meanwhile, Bullets rivals Mighty Mukuru Wanderers have finished the first round fourth with 28 points after a loss to Kamuzu Barracks on Saturday.

The Nomads coach Mark Harrison said they need to improve on consistency going into the second round.

“We just need to bring consistency to our game instead of doing well in a couple of games then we throw away a silly game,” he said.
